Investigations

Reverse Investigations

Within the framework of the Arab Republic of Egypt's obligations under the World Trade Organization, and in accordance with the relevant international agreements, certain WTO Members conduct trade remedy investigations on their imports of Egyptian products, which may result in the imposition of trade remedy measures on Egyptian exports, potentially affecting their access to external markets.

In this context, the Trade Remedies Sector plays a pivotal role in supporting and protecting Egyptian exports, through the effective monitoring of investigations conducted by foreign investigating authorities, the preparation of the necessary technical and legal defenses, and close coordination with the relevant national stakeholders, in particular the export councils and the Federation of Egyptian Industries. The Sector also provides technical guidance and advisory support to exporting companies, assists them in complying with the requirements of foreign investigations, prepares responses and supporting documentation, and explains the applicable procedures and rights guaranteed under international agreements. This contributes to enabling exporters to effectively defend their exports, enhance their competitiveness, and ensure the continued access of Egyptian products to global markets without undue barriers or restrictions.
